GreendaleNow to Become MySouthNow

The GreendaleNow will be combined with Franklin, Hales Corners and Oak Creek to become MySouthNow according to a FranklinNow post by Scott Peterson, editor in chief of the publications. The move is part of a realignment of the Now publications across the region. “We will still have sections to post stories by community, but they will be grouped, just like the print editions are, under one flag for each market,” wrote Peterson on July 25. The new sites will be updated to reflect the USA Today Network style. Gannett, the publishing company that owns USA TODAY and media businesses in 92 local markets, purchased the Journal Media Group for about $280 million in 2015. Greendale Open Market on Saturday

The Village’s popular Open Market continues this Saturday in the shadow of historic Village Hall from 8 a.m. to noon. The Greendale Historical Society will be offering historic walking tours of the Village. Tours are $5 and those interested should meet at the Historical Society Booth at Open Market. Tours will be offered at 11 a.m. The Open Market serves Greendale and surrounding communities running on select Saturdays from June through October. Report: Layton State Bank to Be Acquired by North Shore Bank

Layton State Bank is set to be acquired by North Shore Bank according to a report on JSonline. The bank has a prominent branch on Broad Street in Greendale. It was founded in 1920 and has assets of about just over $120 million and has three other branches in West Allis, New Berlin and Milwaukee.
