Native Plant Sale at Wehr Nature Center

Native Plant Sale at Wehr Nature Center

Find just the right plants for your home’s natural landscaping as The Wehr Nature Center hosts its annual Mother’s Day native plant sale on Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Knowledgeable staff will assist you in plant selection, and literature will be available to provide additional information on natural landscaping topics.

Plants from a local nursery will be featured. Items for sale include spring ephemerals, prairie plants, woodland plants, and wetland plant species. Nursery-grown native plants will be sold in 4.5-inch pots, and trays of 2.5-inch plugs (16 per tray). The plants in pots have been grown 2–5 years and are now of transplant size. Add some color to your native planting or restoration area this year.

Gardeners can choose from a list of more than 100 native plants for their gardens. Plants will be sold in 4.5-inch pots, gallon-sized pots and trays of 2.5-inch plugs (16 per tray). Potted plants will have been grown two to five years and will be of transplant size.

The Wehr Nature Center is located at 9701 W. College Ave. For information, please call (414) 425-8550.
