Broadway Performer and GHS Alum to Present Benefit Concert for Greendale Marching Band

Broadway actress and Greendale native Sarah Pfisterer, along with her husband Rick Hilsabeck, will perform a benefit concert on Sunday, May 1 to benefit the Greendale Marching Band’s trip to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Pfisterer is a graduate of Greendale High School who performed on Broadway in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s acclaimed production of The Phantom of the Opera in the lead female role of Christine. Her husband performed in the role of the Phantom. Together, they formed and operate Wiremill Academy, a theater arts school for youth, in Redding, Connecticut.

The event will feature music from some of Broadway’s greatest hits, including Phantom of the Opera, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, and more.

Showtime is at 3 p.m. in the Henry Ross Auditorium of the Reiman Family Fine Arts Wing at Greendale High School.

A free-will collection will be taken following the concert to benefit the Greendale High School Marching Band. Pfisterer is a graduate of Greendale High School who performed on Broadway in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s acclaimed production of The Phantom of the Opera in the lead female role of Christine. The Greendale High School Marching Band is raising funds for it trip to the 2016 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. It is one of just seven high school bands chosen to participate in the prestigious event and was selected from 175 applicants from around the country. The students will be representing the Village of Greendale, Milwaukee County, and the State of Wisconsin as the first Wisconsin high school band to march in the parade in since 2010.

To date, the marching band has raised $70,000 of its $100,000 fundraising goal through its work on various events, corporate sponsorships, and reaching out to GHS alumni.
