School Calendar, Technology on Tap for School Board
The Greendale school board will meet on Monday, November 2. A light agenda includes a review and discussion on a draft calendar for the 2016-17 school year, a technology report and consideration of a proposed field trip to the Galapagos Islands. The board will also provide an update on its search for a new superintendent.
In the development of the proposed calendar, the district considered the impact the Marching Band’s participation in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and election dates.
“The calendar structure allows for no school on known election dates,” wrote Kim Amidzich, Director of Curriculum & Instruction and Julie Grotophorst, Director of Human Resources in a memo to the board.
In 2014, during a special meeting, the Greendale school board reversed course and unanimously voted to rescind previous requests to the Village of Greendale to remove polling places from the district’s three elementary schools.
The meeting will be held in the Greendale High School Library at 7 p.m.
