GCT’s “Parade” Opens Run

GCT’s “Parade” Opens Run

The Greendale Community Theatre (GTC) has announced that musical “Parade” has been selected as its summer production. Performance dates for the GTC production of “Parade” are July 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31 and August 1.

“Parade” tells the heart-wrenching, true story of Leo Frank: a Brooklyn-raised Jewish man living in Atlanta who was wrongfully convicted of the rape and murder of his thirteen-year-old employee, Mary Phagan, in 1913. With a characteristically rich, intricate, and wide-ranging score penned by Jason Robert Brown, and a bold willingness to dive into the complexities of early 20th century social relationships in the South, Parade is a sophisticated, dark tale.

GTC has also announced that auditions for “Parade” will be held at the Greendale High School Auditorium on Thursday, May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Those who come to audition will only be asked to perform a selection of music that does not exceed a minute in length, in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music for the provided accompanist. Call backs will be held on Saturday, May 9.
